Answers to common questions about supported Fujifilm HDR RAF files, local processing, camera support, and DNG export.
What is HDR RAF Extractor?
HDR RAF Extractor is a native macOS app for Fujifilm HDR RAF files. It opens supported three-frame Fujifilm HDR RAF files, shows the metered, under, and over frames, and exports selected frames as separate DNG files.
Does HDR RAF Extractor modify the original RAF file?
No. The original RAF is never modified. HDR RAF Extractor inspects the source file locally and writes new DNG files only for the frames you choose to export.
Which Fujifilm cameras are supported?
Fujifilm X-T5 is supported. Fujifilm X-H2, X-T50, X-T3, X-T4, X-H2S, and X-S20 can export with a warning while validation continues.
Does HDR RAF Extractor work with GFX files?
Not at this time. GFX50S II, Bayer/GFX cameras, and unlisted models are currently not supported while the app focuses on supported Fujifilm X-Trans HDR RAF files.
Does HDR RAF Extractor upload files to the cloud?
No. HDR RAF Extractor processes files locally on your Mac. The app does not use accounts, analytics, tracking, cloud uploads, or network services.
What DNG files does HDR RAF Extractor export?
HDR RAF Extractor exports the selected metered, under, and over HDR frames as separate DNG files with metadata written at export time. If destination files already exist, the app lets you keep both, overwrite, or cancel.
What should I do if an export has errors or a strange color cast?
Please contact me. Error reports, strange color casts, and DNG files that your editor cannot open are useful clues while I improve camera validation and export compatibility.
How can I help with models that show a warning?
